Brit winemaker, Harry Hunt of Bodegas Tierra Hermosa, Andalucia – Spain, has announced today a new partnership deal with Japan’s leading specialist distributor of Spanish wines, Orchestra Co. Ltd. Based in Gero, with key accounts in Tokyo and Nagoya, Orchestra supplies a host of popular bars, restaurants, wine shops and internet outlets. The company also sells its portfolio of Spanish wines direct to the Japanese public through its own successful internet shop www.orchestra.co.jp
Hunt, along with his wife Kate, founded Tierra Hermosa in 2009. The Bodegas are the first negociant styled producers in the Andalucian region, collaborating with local grape growers and regional oenologists, with the goal of creating a range of wines from across Andalucia under the Tierra Hermosa name.
The winery’s first two wines are both from D.O.P Granada with the Neblerio – 100% Tempranillo, produced from the red limestone vineyards to the south east of Alhama de Granada and the Veinte Grados – blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Syrah and 10% Grenache coming from the sloping terraced vineyards in the Sierra de Tejeda Natural Park, south of Alhama de Grenada.
