Gavi di Gavi San Silvestro 2010.
Clear and pale. Very distinctive nose of apples, pears and elderflower. On the palate, light and fresh. Some pepper, pear with good, mid range acidity and a decent length.
I’m not one for lighter style wines. It just doesn’t suit my palate but this wine blew me away. As far as writing a tasting note goes, it was easy. This is a beautiful wine. Soft, elegant. The level of fruit mixed with the acidity makes it a very easy wine to drink. Pull up a chair. Sit in the sun and pour yourself a glass. It’s stunning. Throw in some ice with a couple of slices of orange or lemon and picture yourself sitting on a beach in the Mediterranean.
Drink on its own or with light summer dishes, salads, pasta etc.
